Our Mission
Our Grandchildren’s Climate are senior citizens (including, but not only, grandparents), who are trying to ensure that the world where future generations will grow up will be safe, healthy and just.
Our Initial Aims
To make other seniors aware of the environment and climate emergency
To engage with children and young people’s groups to help with understanding of the climate emergency, and offer support and ideas about adaptation, to try to lower anxiety
To liaise with all other groups with similar aims in the UK, and outside - whilst remaining independent
How
Campaigning: Using our position as elders to support peaceful protest, lobby politicians and business leaders at all levels, and uninformed groups of our own generation, writing comments and letters to newspapers and engaging on social media.
Working with parents, children, schools and other youth groups
Engaging with other UK groups and with the European Grandparents for Climate
We currently meet online once a month
This is usually the first Wednesday of each month at 5pm - Zoom link can be accessed by contacting us at info@ourgrandchildrensclimate.org
We also have two smaller working groups (a Children's Group and an Actions Group)
